Visibility – Showing Up Matters

Local politics has never felt further away.

When they changed how local government worked and brought in North Northamptonshire Council, they said it would make things better — more efficient, more local, easier to get help when you needed it.

But for a lot of people here in Corby — especially in Kingswood — it doesn’t feel that way.

It feels like the council packed up, moved further away, and left us behind.

When services don’t work — bins missed, housing repairs delayed, no one calling you back — you should know who to go to, and get a proper answer. That’s what people expect, and rightly so.

"When visibility is missing, people get left behind"

Being a councillor should mean being present, being available, and working with the council to fix things — not waiting for someone else to do it, and not just showing up when it’s time to ask for votes.

If I’m elected, I’ll:

  • Be out in the ward regularly, checking in and listening

  • Attend community events and respond directly when people need help

  • Work with the council to raise concerns early and get issues sorted

  • Keep people in the loop with honest, clear updates — no jargon, no excuses

Because when something’s not right, it’s not enough to be visible. You have to show up, speak up, and stick around until the job’s done.
