Accountability - What You Deserve to Know
We were promised a more efficient, transparent, and local system after the council was reorganised. But here in Kingswood and across Corby, it often feels like the opposite.
Instead, it’s harder to know who’s responsible for what. Decisions are often made behind closed doors. And when things go wrong, the excuses come faster than the solutions.
That’s not good enough.
Accountability isn’t just about reporting back — it’s about owning decisions, communicating clearly, and being honest when things are difficult or unpopular.
“When no one’s accountable, nothing changes”
As the only independent candidate standing in Corby, I won’t follow a party line or vote based on a national script. I’ll ask the right questions, challenge decisions when needed, and explain what’s happening in a way that makes sense — not in council jargon.
If I’m elected, I’ll:
Be clear about where money is going — and why
Push for more transparent decision-making and fewer backroom deals
Publish regular updates in plain English so residents know what’s being discussed and how I’m voting
Take responsibility, not shift blame
Hold the council to account — and let you hold me to account too
This council spends hundreds of millions of pounds every year. That money belongs to you. The decisions made at the Cube affect housing, social care, bins, roads, youth services — everyday life.
You have every right to know what’s happening — and to expect better than what we’ve had.
